In the fall of 2009, when President Obama’s Executive Order 13514 called for all Federal facilities to become greener and more sustainable, ASBE member companies looked to create a tool that could respond to the challenges issued to the Federal Agencies.

ASBE developed one of the first presentations to address the specific mandates itemized in the Executive Order. It was based on the organization’s previously conceived Sustainable Bundled Solution and it shows how ASBE members’ products work in concert to create a high performance green building.

Our Virtual Building presentation effectively delivered a noncommercial message yet showcased member products and services with a singular voice. Each member presented its own section, explaining how it could contribute to a sample retrofit’s overall cost savings as well as the building’s reduced environmental impact.

Following the DC event, the Alliance made adjustments to the presentation, creating a more generalized version to bring to audiences nationwide.

Association's World Workplace - Orlando, FL
As the main feature of the "Green Zone" at IFMA’s World Workplace, ASBE’s 20’ x 40’ booth ran the Virtual Building on a continuous loop throughout the three-day event.

Envirobuild Expo – Hartford, CT and Energy Efficiency Expo – Dallas, TX
ASBE member liaisons and local sales representative delivered the presentation to smaller audiences at these two local shows.
