In response to President Obama’s Executive Order 13514, ASBE coordinated this exclusive, five-hour conference targeting governmental agency decision-makers. The Summit was a stand-alone event created to explain how the ASBE members’ products and services can help facility managers at Federal Agencies meet and exceed the mandates set forth in the Order.
The event featured two keynote speakers: Kevin Kampschroer, Director, Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings (GSA); and, Richard Kidd, IV, Director of FEMP, Department of Energy. Both spoke about the immediate implications the Executive Order has on today’s Federal facility managers as they try to achieve the mandates set forth in the Order as well as the future implications the Executive Order will have on all business who want to sell their products to the Federal government.
The Summit was moderated by Thomas Mitchell, Jr., Chairman of IFMA and Director of Facilities Management Consulting at Booz | Allen | Hamilton. Presenting GHG Metrics: Tracking, Accounting and Reporting Systems was JoAnn Garbin of Johnson Controls Global Workplace Solutions.
ASBE was able to draw more than 165 of the most influential Federal administrators and professionals responsible for meeting the mandates set forth in the Executive Order. Members were allotted enough time to highlight the sustainable properties of their products and services while an ASBE representative explained how these solutions worked together to deliver savings that exceeded EO 13514 mandates. |
